Reykjavik Panorama - Hike to the top of Mt. Esja

Hike the Mt. Esja and witness an unsurpassed panoramic view of Reykjavík and its surroundings. Mt. Esja is 914 meters high and the ascent is a relatively easy, approximately a 90 minute hike. Walking on a good path from sea level by the Kollafjörður fjord until standing on the top where you can look into the mouth of Hvalfjörður fjord. With hot chocolate in your hand you can also sneak a peak at the Snæfellsjökull glacier (Jule Verne´s gate to the center of the earth) and the intimidating North Atlantic Sea. On good days you can also see the smoke rising to the air from the many high heat areas and hot springs around the city.
