Blue Ice - Glacier hiking tour
Available all year round
Summer Edition / Winter Edition
The Blue Ice glacier hiking tour is our all time bestselling glacier trip and rightly so since it is a great exploration and adventure trip to the Sólheimajökull outlet glacier from the Mýrdalsjökull glacier. It is an otherworldly scene, rough, crevasse riddled and ever changing hub of ancient frozen water and volcanic ashes. We will supply you with crampons, enabling you to walk on the glacier ice and experience the spectacular surroundings. Then we find an ice wall on the glacier and if you are daring enough you can try your hand at ice climbing. We will provide you with all the tools you need: ice axes, crampons and safety lines. The safety line will make sure that even if you lose your grip you will not fall more then a few centimeters. As we drive back to Reykjavik we will stop at the beautiful Skógafoss waterfall.
