Relaxing in Reykjavik

Reykjavik is a great place to relax... This is what we recommend :)

Summer & Winter

Reykjavik Backpackers suggests you spend your day relaxing in one or more of those places...

The Blue Lagoon is a great place to relax and many bus tours are offered there daily. The Blue Lagoon also hosts a very nice spa if you want to treat yourself with some extra comfort. Information on the bus schedule, tickets and spa treatments can be found at Reykjavik Backpackers' reception. Visit us at Laugavegur 28 or email us bookings@reykjavikbackpackers.com

Laugardalur Public Swimming Pool is a very nice geothermally heated public pool in a nice green area in the city. It is only 20 minutes nice walk along the sea from the city center or a short busride. For directions and information visit us at Laugavegur 28, no prior booking is required.

The oldest quarter in Reykjavik offers views of some quirky and very beautiful buildings and green lawns in the city center. Stroll around if the weather is nice. More information at Reykjavik Backpackers' reception at Laugavegur 28.

Summer

Nauthólsvík Geothermal Beach. Sure, we don't have any natural nice and warm beaches in Iceland but we have found a way. There is a geothermally heated beach in the city center, only about 30 minutes walk from Reykjavik Backpackers. Buses also run there. It's close to Perlan, the building on the hill next to the beach witch is nice to visit on the way. For more info and directions visit us at Laugavegur 28 or email us at bookings@reykjavikbackpackers.com

Austurvöllur square is the place where everybody gathers on a sunny day in Reykjavik. Bring picknick and beer and go people watching. There is also a line of cafés and bars with tables outside along the square if you're allergic to the grass :) For directions visit us at Laugavegur 28.
