Reykjavik Backpackers is located in Reykjavik City Center within walking distance from all services a traveler could need - our next door neighbours are among others most of the nicest cafés, bars, restaurants, shops, pubs and clubs. More information about our location available here.

Services

 Reykjavik Backpackers' travel hub is located on the 1st floor of our building. There we offer:

• Café & Bar
• Internet facilities (free wifi & cheap internet time in our computers)
• Tourist information & Tour booking services
• Flight & bus ticket sales
• Car rental booking service (pick up from Reykjavik Backpackers)
• Bike rental
• Camping equipment rental (tents, sleeping bags, mattresses & cooking gear)
• Laundry services

Dorms & Private rooms

 Reykjavik Backpackers hostel offers 20 dorms and private rooms on Laugavegur 28, downtown Reykjavik for tired travelers. There are sixteen 4-8 person dorms and four private rooms for 2 persons. All in all there are 92 beds on three floors. You can take a look at the floorplan here.

 

Bathroom & Shower facilities

 

All the dorms at the hostel have shared bathroom facilities. Toilets and showers are located in the center of each floor allowing all rooms to access the facilities easily.

Warm showers are accessible 24-hours a day.

Hang out places

Not only do we have a common room on each floor, we have a bar and a café on the 1st floor which is a good place to meet new people, relax, watch some TV, read a book, etc. There is always something happening at the bar, e.g. concerts, pub crawls, trivia nights, foosball tournaments and theme parties.

A book exchange is available on the 3rd floor at the hostel. You can leave a book and pick a book in return free of charge.

Cooking facilities

Due to our central location we recommend you'll have unique access to cafés, breakfast places, restaurants, etc. Therefore we recommend you come see us for some good pointers of the Icelandic delicacies we recommend you try and other nice places to eat. If you prefer we have kitchen facilities on the 4th floor of the building available for guests occupying the four private rooms and two 4 person dorms located on the 4th floor.

Security lockers

Security lockers, located on the 2nd and 3rd floor are available for guests to use. Lockers can be rented from the reception for a small amount.
